This Sears location was used as the place where Max played the video of a naked John in the film "Grumpier Old Men." John was posing for Ariel's sculpture, Max video-taped it and then displayed it for all the customers in the Sears store to see. You can find it at 425 Rice Street in St. Paul, Minnesota. Above is a still from the film; below is the location in September of 2014.

Four Points Sharaton Hotel - "Drop Dead Gorgeous" Filming Location - St. Paul, MN
The Four Points Sheraton in St. Paul was the location used in "Drop Dead Gorgeous" for the infamous barfing beauty queen scene.
However, the location was torn down around 2005 and a Super Target was built in it's place. The former address of the hotel was 400 Hamline Avenue North in St. Paul, Minnesota. The above two images are stills from the film. Below is the location in September of 2014. As you can see, the apartment building in the background is the same.

Erik & Dexter's Houses - "The Cure" Filming Locations - Stillwater, MN
In the 1995 film "The Cure," two houses in the same neighborhood were used for the main characters' houses. The above still from the film shows Dexter's house. Below is how the house appeared in September of 2014. You can find it at 815 2nd Street South in Stillwater, Minnesota.
In the above still, you can see Dexter and Erik walk around the side of Dexter's house; below is the same spot in 2014.
In the film, Dexter and Erik's houses are back-to-back and seperated by a fence. That would put Erik's house on 1st Street South in Stillwater. However, in the above photo I took in September of 2014, this is what SHOULD be the spot for Erik's house. As you can see, it is not there. At first, I thought the house may have been torn down but the trees are too big to have been planted less than 19 years ago. I drove up and down the streets in that neighborhood looking for Erik's house once I realized that.
The above still is an image of Erik's house in the film. The good news is, just down the street from where I thought the house should be, I found the real location. The image below is how the house looked in 2013 (and still in 2014). Yes, the image below if from Google Earth. I drove around the block several times to take a photo of the house, but the family who lives there was in the front lawn and I did not want to spook them by taking their photo and driving off. You can find this location at 717 1st Street South in Stillwater.

Ardmore Village - "Drop Dead Gorgeous" Filming Location - Lakeville, MN
Ardmore Village trailer park in Lakeville, Minnesota is the location used for the home of character Amber Atkins in the 1999 film "Drop Dead Gorgeous." In the above still from the film, Amber (Kirsten Dunst) is standing on the road next to the trailer park. This road is Highway 23. Below is the same spot in September of 2014.
The above still shows the exterior of Amber's home. Below is the same spot in 2014. The approximate location is 212 Cleopatra Drive in Lakeville.
How did I find the trailer's location? The above still from the film is an interior shot of Amber's home. If you look out the window, you can see the trailer park's main office building WAAAY in the back. The below image I took is standing approximately where the women would have been in the above still.

Stearns County Courthouse - "Mighty Ducks" Filming Location - St. Cloud, MN
The Stearns County Courthouse was used for the courtroom and court steps scenes in the original "Mighty Ducks" film. The courthouse address is 725 Courthouse Square in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The courthouse did not allow cameras or cell phones into the building during my visit so I couln't take photos of the interior. However, I did confirm the steps seen in the above still are in this courthouse. Below is an exterior shot I took of the courthouse in September of 2014.

The Steps - "The Cure" Filming Location - Stillwater, MN
During the opening sequence of the 1995 film "The Cure," Erik's character is seen walking home from school. He heads up the steps on Chestnut Street West and turns North in the still above. Below is the same spot in September of 2014 taken at the corner of Chestnut Street West and 4th Street South in Stillwater, Minnesota.

Divine Redeemer Hospital - "The Cure,""Drop Dead Gorgeous"&"Grumpy Old Men" Filming Location - St. Paul, MN
Sometimes I visit locations and they are the same as they were in the film and I get very excited! Sometime I visit locations and they are torn down, which is the case in the Divine Redeemer Hospital. This hospital was used in at least three different movies. This location was used in the film "The Cure," as shown in the two stills above. "Drop Dead Gorgeous" filmed their hospital scenes here as did the hospital scenes at the end of "Grumpy Old Men."
It saddens me that it's gone. Well, most of it is gone. The bulk of the hospital was torn down in 2012. All thats left is this administration building shown in my image above. It was taken in September of 2014. The address is 724 19th Avenue North in South St. Paul, Minnesota.

Chaska School of Beauty - "Drop Dead Gorgeous" Filming Location - Chaska, MN
Ok, so the Chaska School of Beauty doesn't exist like the above still from the film suggests, but the businesses around it do. I looked closely; they used the old building that American Family Insurance and Chaska Dental were in. The building used in the film was demolished and a new site was built in the same spot with the same businesses in tact. The photo below was taken in September of 2014. American Family Insurance can be found at 2638 Shadow Lane in Chaska, Minnesota.

Willie & Marty's Houses - "Beautiful Girls" Filming Location - Stillwater, MN
In the 1996 film "Beautiful Girls," Willie and Marty's houses are right next to each other. In real life, the same thing. Above is a still from the film as Willie arrives home. Below is the same spot in September of 2014. Willie's address is 1337 2nd Street South in Stillwater, Minnesota. Only the exteriors of Willie's house were shot here.
Around the side of the house is where Willie sticks his head out the window during the "Romeo and Juliet" scene. Below is the same spot...the window is the one above the door awning.
Right next door at 1341 2nd Street South is Marty's house. Above is a still from the film with Marty outside building a snowman. Below is the same location in 2014.

5th Street South - "Angus" Filming Location - Stillwater, MN
Near the corner of Olive Street West and 5th Street South, looking south on 5th Street South, in Stillwater, Minnesota is where a scene was shot showing Angus riding his bike home. In the above still, Angus turns to his left and that is where his house is supposed to be. In the below photo I took in September of 2014, everything is still very similar. However, there is nothing around that area that could possibly resemble Angus' home.

This location was used at the bus station that Dexter's mom waited for him to arrive, as seen in the above still from the film "The Cure." Below is the same location in September of 2014. You also catch a very small glimpse of this location at the very end of "Grumpier Old Men." You can find this spot at 180 Judd Street in Marine on Saint Croix, Minnesota.

The Jacob Wetterling Abduction - St. Joseph, MN
Jacob Wetterling was an 11-year-old boy who was kidnapped on Sunday, October 11th, 1989 near his home in St. Joseph, Minnesota (which is a suburb of St. Cloud). Today marks the 25th anniversary of what has been known as one of the most infamous child abductions of all time. The case has not been solved and Jacob has not been found. This posting is to promote awareness so Jacob can perhaps someday return home. His family has never given up hope.
All of my photos below were taken in September of 2014.
The St. Joseph Veterinary Clinic, formerly known as the Tom Thumb Convenience Store, was the location Jacob was headed to rent a movie before the abduction.
This is the spot above where Jacob was abducted between his home and the store.
The image above is a shot down the street where Jacob lived. To respect their privacy, I didn't want to go directly to the Wetterling home and start snapping photos.
